Cel animation (cellulose plastic animation) is one of the animation techniques that started in the 1920s, cellulose is a thin pace of plastic. Cell animation is made by using a sheet of transparent cellulose, which the animators used to draw on. Once they draw the cartoons and painted them, they would lay the cells on top of each other to build different backgrounds or characters.
In the 1920s to make a 10 minute animation it would take up to 6 months with a small group between 6 - 12. The small group would all have individual role to make the animation, when the lead artist had do the drawings it would be passed down to an other artist who would paint and fill in the line more. Some else would do the background, once they've do that the actor would do the voice over and would include background music.
